Vallarta en Vivo Concert a Huge Success

About 40,000 spec­ta­tors, includ­ing tourists and cit­i­zen of Puerto Val­larta, enjoyed a major con­cert enti­tled “Val­larta en Vivo” on June 20. This spec­tac­u­lar event was head­lined by the inter­na­tion­ally renowned Mex­i­can singer, Ale­jan­dro Fer­nan­dez, along with some of his famous friends.

The con­cert was part of the cam­paign “Jalisco Vive 2009,” under­taken by the state gov­ern­ment to help revive tourism in the state of Jalisco, espe­cially as vis­i­tors to our city gen­er­ate sig­nif­i­cant rev­enue to the area.

Ale­jan­dro Fer­nán­dez said at the press con­fer­ence prior to the con­cert that despite being a low sea­son for vis­i­tors in the port, tourism author­i­ties told him that the hotel occu­pancy rates had increased con­sid­er­ably thanks to the con­cert. The first spec­ta­tors arrived at the entrances of the Male­con at 6:00 AM and waited up to 20 hours to see their favorite per­form­ers sing live.
