Jack Nicklaus Inauguration Event Set for Punta Mita Bahía Signature Golf Course, November 15th &16th

Punta Mita is proud to welcome back golf legend and course designer Jack Nicklaus to inaugurate the Punta Mita Bahía Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course. The two-day celebration of Punta Mita’s new crown jewel will take place November 15 and 16, 2009, and will include a Member-Guest Tournament on Sunday the 15th, followed by the inaugural activities featuring Jack Nicklaus on the 16th. The day will kick off at 11am, when Jack Nicklaus hits the “official” inaugural drive from the first tee, followed by play on the courses’ 17th and 18th holes. A champagne toast will follow, and all Club Punta Mita Members are invited to witness this memorable event.

This is the second course Nicklaus has designed for Punta Mita, the first being Punta Mita Pacífico, which opened in 1999 and boasts the only natural ocean island par-3 hole in the world. Both courses are part of the private Punta Mita Club de Golf, with play reserved exclusively for Punta Mita homeowners, those renting a Punta Mita residence and guests of Four Seasons and St. Regis Punta Mita Resorts.

The new 18-hole championship course features breathtaking views of the blue-green sea made even more spectacular from December to April when migrating humpback whales can easily be spotted from shore. In all, it boasts five holes that play along the ocean and an additional two with ocean views.

Undulating greens and fairways make Bahía challenging but fun to play. Stretching 7,035 yards, this par-72 course features Miniverde greens constructed to USGA standards, Bermuda fairways and lush tropical landscaping. Its layout includes five par 3s, eight par 4s and five par 5s. Fairways wind around Punta Mita’s beautiful residential communities and the elegant St. Regis Punta Mita Resort.

Two of the most memorable holes of this new course are Nos. 15 and 17. The approach shot of the 462-yard, par-4 15th hole affords full views of the Banderas Bay and the Puerto Vallarta skyline. Its green has a tricky drop off with a deep bunker on the left side. Hole 17, a 387-yard par-4, is a short dogleg left, which follows the contour of a cove and requires a carry over rocks and sand to a small waterfront green.

Members and their invited guests are eligible to play in the Inaugural Tournament on November 15th. To reserve your space, please contact the Punta Mita Golf Clubhouse at tel: +52 329/291-6265, or email: phillip.ferrari@fourseasons.com. Participation space is limited, so those interested are encouraged to reserve early. All Members are invited to the Inauguration Ceremony on November 16th, and invitations will be sent via email, with the full agenda. We look forward to seeing you at this special celebration in Punta Mita!

DINE and Punta Mita Properties proudly announce the first phase of Punta Mita’s newest community, Iyari, consisting of a collection of approximately fifteen distinctive golf course home sites. Developed by DINE, master developer of Punta Mita, the release of this exciting offering is planned for late fall in anticipation of our historically stronger selling season at Punta Mita Properties.

What makes these home sites so unique is the value-oriented price point, expected to begin around $300,000 USD—making them an incredible value for custom home ownership in Mexico’s most recognized resort and residential community. This accessible price point, combined with the ability for owners to design and build their home, is an opportunity not available within Punta Mita for many years.

Located along the 7th and 8th fairways of the new Bahía and the 5th hole of the Pacifíco Punta Mita Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses, the home sites offer exquisite privacy and lush landscaping, in the heart of Punta Mita—conveniently close to the Residents’ Beach Club. The word Iyari means “heart” in the Huichol language, and speaks to the location of this new community at the center of Punta Mita’s amenities and recreational offerings.

Overlooking the stunning golf landscape, views from these residences will be highlighted by the course’s lakes, green settings and abundant native vegetation. Lot sizes range from just under one-quarter acre to nearly one-half an acre in size, with a variety of lot dimensions. Additionally, the community has been designed to have low annual HOA assessments, with minimal common community amenities to maintain. While the construction guidelines are still being finalized, residences within Iyari will be allowed to have palapa-style roofs integrated into their designs.

“We anticipate a strong demand for these home sites, as this is a product opportunity conceived to address the concerns and buying preferences prevalent in our current market place,” states Gary Pepin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Punta Mita. “We encourage you to contact your Punta Mita specialist to be placed on our list for continuing communications about this release.”

Post Rainy Season Maintenance Plan Underway: With the conclusion of the rainy season imminent, the Punta Mita HOA has begun implementing their post-rainy season maintenance plan, with the objective of polishing the landscaping and amenities of Punta Mita to be at their best for the upcoming high seasons and special events. Our region’s seasonal rains bring with them special maintenance requirements, which the HOA plans for as part of their annual budget and work schedule.

This post-rainy season maintenance plan includes: maintenance and repairs for lights and signs along the roads, maintenance of concrete roads, concrete repairs and replacement of any damaged areas, painting of the guard houses, wood treatment for outdoor infrastructures, fumigation, plant replacement and general cleaning of garden and landscaped areas, and general maintenance and treatment of palapas. Punta Mita homeowners should know that the HOA is hard at work in perfecting Punta Mita as the premier resort and residential community in Mexico.

HOA Goes “Social” on Facebook and Twitter! In an effort to stay in closer contact with Punta Mita’s residents, the HOA has joined the explosive movement of social media and has established community sites on both Facebook and Twitter. These social networking sites provide more ways to stay in touch with all that’s going on in our community, as well as facilitate a forum for our owners to connect with one another. Owners may sign up at www.puntamitahoa.com, where you’ll find news, upcoming events, restaurant guides, photo gallery, blogs, community directory, Punta Mita phonebook, HOA document library, amenities schedule and much more.

The HOA sites on Twitter & Facebook are additional ways in which the HOA will be sharing information, while owners, members and fans of Punta Mita may also contribute, to build a greater sense of community and encourage interaction. We invite you to follow your HOA at: https://twitter.com/PuntaMitaHOA, or find us in http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/Punta-Mita-Homeowners-Association/117232004209?ref=ts, as Punta Mita Homeowners Association.
