PEACE spent the day yesterday helping community members, students, and teachers clean up Higuera Blanca and Litibu, two small communities in Nayarit that were hit hard by the rains. If you’d like to help, several donation spots have been set up; read more from PEACE:

“Due to the recent heavy rains in the area, there have been several towns to the north who are dealing with fallen bridges and flooding and are in need of aid. There are many families who lost their homes in the flood, many without access to supplies, and many of the roads in and out of the towns are closed. The situation is improving, but we all still need to work together to get these communities what they need at a time like this.

There are several drop-off locations around the Bay that have been set up to help these communities. You can bring dry food, water, gas for cooking, pillows, blankets, diapers, bleach, cleaning supplies, clothes to these drop off locations and they will be shipped to the towns in need (via panga or truck). At this point, the towns with the most need are San Pancho, Sayulita, San Ignacio, Guamuchil and Higuera Blanca. The drop off points are below.
