Luxury real estate and vacation rentals in Puerto Vallarta, Punta Mita, Costa Careyes, Riviera Nayarit and beyond

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico — Fly South three-hours from Los Angeles, California to explore unspoiled, tropical, beachfront property. Along Mexico’s Pacific coastline sits the Bay of Banderas. It is the largest natural bay in Mexico. There are about 40 miles of coastline, which has almost 30 miles of beaches and is dotted with intimate coves and cliffs.

The Bay of Banderas represents Mexico’s second largest tourist destination. Three cities along the bay include Cabo Correintes, at the southern tip, Puerto Vallarta in the center and at the northern tip is Punta de Mita.

The explosive growth is taking place in the Northern part of the bay. Premiere developments include the world renowned Four Seasons Resort, Punta Mita and the Rosewood Resort.

The luxury development boom has brought world-class quality. Mexico’s best architects, builders and artisans are creating imaginative and stunning homes along the Pacific coastline.

The most excellent, luxury investments are taking place in the areas around Punta de Mita. The real estate has a restricted occupancy rate. It can be as little as nine bedrooms per 2.5 acres. This will keep the number of landowners down and encourage development of high-end living. Pristine beachfront property can be as much as $2-million dollars per acre. La Punta Realty is offering multi-million dollar homes and the most exclusive and private homesite lots in the Bay. These properties are adjacent to the Four Seasons Resort, Punta Mita.

Mexican, North American, Spanish, French and Italian investors have put their money into the Bay of Banderas. The first group of luxury home owners have typically come from California, particularly Sillicon Valley and Hollywood. “It is truly amazing what is happening here,” says Alexis Burwell of La Punta Realty, “There are many active developments to choose from along the north coast and the properties are selling well.”

Right now the Bay of Banderas attracts over 3-million tourists per year and has a population of about 325,000. According to FONATUR, the Mexican tourist development bank, and the Banderas tourism board, the number of tourists in the next 20 years will exceed 6 million per year and the population will more than double in size.

The Mexican government is making the Bay of Banderas a priority. It hopes to keep the infrastructure growing to accommodate the everincreasing number of new homeowners. Electricity, water treatment, telecommunications, airports, and highways are just some of the areas being addressed right now. The Mexican government has also changed some of the real estate laws. Now it is easier for foreigners to buy and develop property in Mexico. The average number of sunny days per year is 300. And with an average yearly temperature of 85 degrees, you can almost always enjoy the great out-of-doors.

The area has seven spectacular golf courses, designed by some of the world’s top architects, including Jack Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf. The Bay is definitely earning its reputation as a world-class golfers destination.

Of course, the miles of coastline offer lazy days on the beach, or all sorts of water sports like surfing, snorkeling, parasailing, boating, fishing, kayaking, and whale watching.

The Bay of Banderas serves as the foreground for behind it lays lush, tropical jungle, and the rugged Sierra Madre mountain range provides a stunning backdrop.

It is this beautiful vista that planners want to preserve. Many luxury homebuyers gravitate to these ecologically sound and conservation friendly communities. In this diverse natural climate eco-tourism is a fast growing venture. Activities include mountain biking, hiking, swinging through the trees on a canopy tour; horseback riding and you can be gone a few hours or a few days.

There are also excursions to remote colonial towns or a Huichol Indian village, where you can experience the true culture of the area.

The Punta de Mita area is serene and tranquil but only a short distance away is Puerto Vallarta, which is a delightful mix of the old and the new. And gives everything you would expect in a world-class tourist destination.

In the area’s largest city, there are over 200 restaurants offering atmosphere from casual bistros to fine dining. And with chefs from all over the world, the variety of cuisine will tempt everyone’s taste buds. Puerto Vallarta also offers a spectacular nightlife. You can enjoy quiet conversation, stroll along the Malecon, catch a show, and boogie till dawn.

Many artists have found inspiration in the Puerto Vallarta area. There are dozens of important art galleries to check out with works in a number of mediums. The only city in Mexico with more is the capital. So, the Bay can be as exciting, or laid back as you like.

Savvy investors can look at properties in The Bay of Banderas as lucrative long-term investments, especially during this global economic slump. And La Punta Realty is offering the fortunate few, unique beachfront opportunities for development.
